Kerala Syllabus Textbooks (SCERT) — Where to Get the Official PDFs

Every Kerala State syllabus textbook is free to download from the government’s own portal, Samagra, run by KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education). You do not need to pay a website or install an unknown app to get them.

Kerala has also changed many textbooks recently, so it matters that you use the current edition. This guide explains where to get the official PDFs and which classes have new books.

Where to download the official textbooks

Go to samagra.kite.kerala.gov.in, the official Samagra resource portal.
Open the textbooks section, then choose the class, the medium (Malayalam, English, Tamil or Kannada) and the subject.
Download the PDF. The portal covers Classes 1 to 12.
If a download is slow, try again later or use a download manager. Government servers are busy at the start of the school year.

Which classes have new textbooks

Kerala revised its school curriculum (the first full revision in over a decade) and is bringing in new SCERT textbooks in two stages.
2024–25: new textbooks for Classes 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.
2025–26: new textbooks for Classes 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.
So the SSLC exam in 2026 was the first one based on the new Class 10 books. Previous papers from before 2026 are still good practice for the question style, but check that each topic is in your current textbook.

Avoid old or wrong editions

Many websites still host older PDFs. Check the year printed on the book’s first pages and compare it with the one your school uses.
Avoid sites that ask you to log in, pay, or install an app just to download a free government textbook.
Guides and question banks are useful, but study the textbook first. Exam questions are based on it.

How to use the textbook well

Read the chapter once before it is taught in class. You will follow the lesson much better.
Mark key terms, definitions, diagrams and examples, and make a one-page summary for each chapter.
Do the activities and end-of-chapter questions. They show the kind of thinking the exam expects.
