Plus One & Plus Two Christmas Exam 2026 — Dates and a Revision Plan

The Christmas (second term) exam is the last big school exam before the Plus Two model exam and the March public exam. For Plus One students it is a check on the year so far, and Plus One marks also count towards the final Higher Secondary grade.

This guide sums up the expected 2026 dates and gives a simple four-week plan for Science and Commerce students. The official time table had not been published as of 6 November 2026; we update the Christmas exam page when it is.

Expected dates for 2026

  • The official 2026-27 school calendar places the second term (Christmas) exam in December 2026.
  • A copy of the calendar lists the Higher Secondary second term exam from 11 December 2026, with schools closing for Christmas on 18 December and reopening on 28 December. These dates are tentative.
  • In 2025 the Plus One and Plus Two second term exams were also held in mid-December. Dates can change, so follow your school’s time table. See the Christmas exam 2026 page for updates.

Get your portions right

  • Second term portions are the chapters your school has planned for this term. Ask your subject teachers for the exact list; do not rely on lists shared online.
  • Write every chapter for each subject on one page and mark it strong, okay or weak.
  • Check whether practical records or assignments are due before the exam, and finish them early.

A four-week revision plan

  • Week 1 (mid-November): finish any chapter not yet completed in class, and make short notes for every chapter.
  • Week 2: revise weak chapters first. In Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Accountancy, solve the textbook problems again without looking at the solutions.
  • Week 3: write at least one previous question paper per subject with a timer, then check every answer.
  • Week 4 (the days before the exam): revise from your own notes and formula sheets, and sleep well.

Subject tips

  • Physics and Mathematics: daily problem practice; write every step, because steps earn marks.
  • Chemistry: revise reactions and equations in small portions every day.
  • Biology: neat labelled diagrams and exact definitions.
  • Accountancy and Business Studies: correct formats, and full problems rather than parts.
  • Languages: practise grammar and writing questions; they are easy marks to lose.

Why it matters

  • Plus Two: use the Christmas exam as a rehearsal for the model exam and the March public exam. Every mistake you find now is one you can fix before March.
  • Plus One: the final Higher Secondary grade combines Plus One and Plus Two scores, so strong Plus One basics pay off twice.
  • In the board exams you also need 30% in the written exam on its own, so practise full written answers, not only objective questions.
