B.Arch and B.Pharm Admission in Kerala — NATA, KEAM and How It Works

Architecture and pharmacy are two popular professional courses after Plus Two, and in Kerala both are handled through the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), but in different ways. B.Arch needs the national NATA exam; B.Pharm uses the KEAM pharmacy paper.

This guide explains how each works, based on the 2026 process. Always read the current KEAM prospectus on cee.kerala.gov.in.

B.Arch: NATA plus KEAM registration

  • You must write and qualify NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by the Council of Architecture. In 2026, CEE required NATA to be qualified on or before 30 June.
  • You must also register for B.Arch in the KEAM application. There is no separate KEAM paper for architecture.
  • CEE prepares the Kerala B.Arch rank list giving equal weightage to your NATA marks and your Plus Two (qualifying exam) marks, as directed by the Council of Architecture (KEAM 2026 prospectus). You submit your Plus Two marks on the CEE portal; in 2026 the rank list came out in late June.
  • Plus Two eligibility for B.Arch is set by the Council of Architecture and the prospectus (Mathematics is required); check the current rules.

B.Pharm: the KEAM pharmacy paper

  • B.Pharm admission in Kerala government-seat allotment uses the KEAM pharmacy test, a computer-based paper in Physics and Chemistry. In 2026 it was held from 18 to 20 April.
  • The paper had Chemistry 45 and Physics 30 questions in 90 minutes, and the B.Pharm rank list is based on the pharmacy entrance marks (KEAM 2026 prospectus).
  • Plus Two with Physics and Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics, is the usual requirement; check the prospectus for exact marks.

How to prepare

  • For B.Arch: NATA tests drawing, visual and spatial reasoning and aptitude. Practise sketching every day, along with Maths for Plus Two. Keep your Plus Two marks strong, since they count in the Kerala rank list.
  • For B.Pharm: practise Physics and Chemistry MCQs under time from January, with Plus One topics too. See our KEAM 2027 guide.
  • Register for every course you are interested in when you fill the KEAM application (it usually opens in January–February).
