JEE Main 2027 for Gulf Students — Exam Cities, Fees and Choosing Your Centre

Students in the Gulf can write JEE Main without travelling to India: NTA holds the exam in several Gulf cities. But the fees are higher, and there are rules about choosing cities that Gulf families should know before applying.

This guide is based on the official JEE (Main) 2027 Information Bulletin from NTA. Check jeemain.nta.nic.in for any updates.

Exam cities outside India in 2027

UAE: Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Qatar: Doha. Oman: Muscat. Saudi Arabia: Riyadh.
Kuwait: Kuwait City. Bahrain: Manama.
Kathmandu (Nepal) is the only other city outside India. At all centres outside India the paper is in English only. For 2027 NTA removed several other foreign cities (such as Singapore and Washington DC), but all the Gulf cities remain.

Fees for centres outside India (per session)

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) or one of Paper 2A/2B: ₹5,000 (General male), ₹4,000 (General female), ₹4,500 (Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL male), ₹4,000 (Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL female), ₹2,500 (SC/ST/PwD/PwBD and third gender).
These are about five times the fees for centres in India, and they apply to each session you register for.

Choosing your exam cities

You choose four cities in the application form, in order of preference. NTA tries to give your first choice but may allot a different city.
If your present or permanent address is outside India, you must choose at least one city in India among the four.
Choose cities you can actually reach on exam day (for example, a Kerala city near your family home as the Indian option).

2027 dates

Session 1: exams on 20–24 and 28 January 2027; admit cards from 13 January 2027.
Session 2: applications from 5 January to 3 February 2027 (late window 4–7 February with an extra ₹500), exams in April 2027.
See our JEE Main 2027 guide for the paper pattern and eligibility.

Tips for Gulf students

Keep your passport details and Indian address handy for the form, and double-check every field: NTA does not change details after the correction window.
Check your school’s pre-board and model exam dates early, so they do not clash with session 1 in January.
If you also plan to apply for Kerala engineering seats, KEAM is separate; see our KEAM 2027 guide.
