Courses Through NEET in Kerala Besides MBBS — Ayurveda, Agriculture, Veterinary and More

Many students think NEET is only for MBBS. In Kerala, the same NEET score is used by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) to allot seats in a wide range of medical and “medical allied” courses, from Ayurveda and Homoeopathy to Agriculture, Veterinary Science and Fisheries.

This guide lists these courses and explains how admission works, based on the 2026 process. Always follow the current KEAM prospectus on cee.kerala.gov.in.

Medical courses through NEET

  • MBBS and BDS (dentistry).
  • BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homoeopathy), BSMS (Siddha) and BUMS (Unani).
  • Ayurveda has its own rank list, separate from the main medical list.

Medical allied courses through NEET

  • Under the Kerala Agricultural University: B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, Forestry, Co-operation & Banking, Climate Change & Environmental Science and B.Tech Biotechnology.
  • Under the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University: BVSc & AH (Veterinary Science).
  • Under the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies: BFSc (Fisheries Science).
  • These are good careers in research, government service, banking and industry, and often have different competition levels from MBBS.

How admission works

  • Write NEET-UG (conducted by NTA, usually in early May).
  • Register with CEE Kerala through the KEAM application and choose the medical and allied courses you want; in 2026 CEE even reopened registration for these courses in July.
  • After the NEET results, CEE publishes Kerala rank lists based on NEET scores and runs the online allotment, where you register your course and college options.
  • Eligibility rules (such as subjects and minimum marks in Plus Two) differ by course; check the prospectus for each one.

Planning tips

  • List the courses you would happily join, not only MBBS, and register for all of them in the KEAM application so you are not left out of the allotment.
  • Keep your Plus Two Physics, Chemistry and Biology marks strong: they decide eligibility for these courses and for B.Sc Nursing and paramedical courses through LBS.
  • See our NEET 2027 guide and nursing and paramedical guide.
