B.Sc Nursing and Paramedical Admission in Kerala — Eligibility and How the Rank List Works
For Plus Two Biology students, B.Sc Nursing and allied health courses such as Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) and Physiotherapy are popular careers. In Kerala, government-seat admission to these courses is handled by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology.
This guide explains the courses, eligibility and how the rank list is prepared, based on the official 2026 prospectus. Always read the current prospectus on lbscentre.kerala.gov.in before applying.
Courses covered
- One application covers B.Sc Nursing and many allied health science degrees, such as B.Sc MLT, B.Sc Optometry, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Occupational Therapy (BOT), Dialysis Technology, Medical Imaging, Cardio Vascular Technology, Perfusion, Anaesthesia, Respiratory and Emergency Medical Technology, and more.
- Courses such as BASLP (audiology and speech) and BPO (prosthetics and orthotics) have their own subject rules and rank lists.
Eligibility
- You need to have passed Plus Two (Higher Secondary) or an equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- For B.Sc Nursing and most allied courses, you need a pass in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in the three together; the prospectus allows a lower minimum for certain reserved categories.
- You must be at least 17 years old by 31 December of the admission year; there is no upper age limit (except for the service quota).
How the rank list works
- In the 2026 prospectus, the rank list for B.Sc Nursing and the main allied courses is prepared on the basis of your Plus Two final-year marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together, not a separate entrance test.
- So your Plus Two board marks in these three subjects decide your rank. Every mark you add in the board exam matters.
- Seats are filled through a centralised online allotment with college and course options. Government seats include all seats in government colleges and a share of seats in private self-financing colleges.
How to apply
- Apply online through a single application on lbscentre.kerala.gov.in after the notification (in recent years, around June after the Plus Two results).
- Keep ready: SSLC and Plus Two mark lists, nativity certificate, and community and income certificates where you claim reservation.
- After the rank list, register your college and course options carefully, in order of preference.
Preparing in Plus Two
- Because the rank uses Physics, Chemistry and Biology marks, aim for the highest board marks in these three subjects. See our Plus Two Biology tips and Physics and Chemistry tips.
- If you are also aiming for MBBS or BDS, NEET is separate; see our NEET 2027 guide.
