Kerala SSLC and Plus Two for Gulf Students — Exam Centres, 2026 and Planning for 2027

Many Malayali families in the UAE and other Gulf countries choose Kerala syllabus schools, so their children write the same SSLC and Plus Two (Higher Secondary) exams as students in Kerala, at exam centres in the Gulf.

This guide explains how that works, what happened in 2026 and how Gulf students can plan for 2027. Always follow your school’s instructions and the official notices from Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan and the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education.

Kerala board exams in the Gulf

The Kerala SSLC and Higher Secondary exams are also held at a small number of exam centres in the Gulf region, at schools that follow the Kerala syllabus. In 2026 there were seven Gulf centres, with 633 students registered for SSLC there.
Gulf students follow the same syllabus, time table and grading as students in Kerala, and their results are published with the state results.

What happened in 2026

Because of the conflict in West Asia, the Gulf SSLC exam on 5 March and the Higher Secondary exams on 5–7 March 2026 were first postponed.
In April 2026 the Gulf SSLC and Plus Two exams were cancelled. Students were assessed on their model and term exam marks, and those not satisfied could take an improvement exam.
The SSLC result reported a 100% pass rate in the Gulf region.
The lesson for families: model and term exams can count. Treat them as seriously as the public exam.

Planning for 2027

Arrangements for 2027 will be announced in the official notices; plan for the normal schedule (SSLC and Plus Two in March) unless told otherwise.
Make every term exam and the model exam count: steady marks through the year protect you if plans change again.
Keep CE work (assignments, projects, practicals) complete and on time; it is part of every subject’s total.
For SSLC students, see our Full A+ in SSLC guide; for Plus Two, the Full A+ in Plus Two guide.

After the exams: Plus One and higher studies

Gulf SSLC students who move to Kerala for Plus One apply through the HSCAP single-window admission like other Kerala syllabus students; see our HSCAP guide.
For school changes when the family returns, see our guide to moving back to Kerala.
